Stampscapes - Last Catch Of The Day

Good Evening Chickees!

This Stampscapes card started out as a tutorial.  I took pictures every step of the way.  When I went to post everything... the photos only showed up in the download as an icon!  So.. I'll be trying another one and hopefully it won't screw up as well haha!
This birthday card is for my hubby's ex-wife's father who is the funniest person on the planet!  Also, I will be entering it in The Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge and the theme is for men/boys.
I sized this card to fit in a standard envelope that I use in the office.  Thought I'd do something different that the standard 5X7 or 4X5.  Turned out pretty kewl!

048E  Lakeside Cove
267E  Pines and Rocks

Colour Challenge Entry

It's a new week at The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge !  The colour pallette to design with is...

Here is my entry for this week.  I'm not ecstatic over it at all but I was kind of in a hurry!
I'm thinking that the white flower on the button just doesn't go with it and if I could pry it off with a crowbar I would!  haha!

The recipe is...
Alcohol Inks Citrus and Purple Twilight
Paper - K& Company and Recollections
Ink - Versamark
White embossing powder
Punch and Michaels bargain ribbon
Bling for the flower centers

Thanks for looking!  I may give this colour combo another shot...

All That Glitters!

Good Evening Chickees!

After spending hours scraping rubber backed carpet from the stairs that the previous owner was too lazy to do before putting down laminate flooring, (smells like rotten feet!), I decided to check what this weeks requirements were for The Outlawz CAS Sunday Challenge.   This week we are to use our favourite paper and even though I have a huge selection of different faves... my ultimate is glitter paper!  I have sheets of it in the rolling cabinet and they are sooo pretty that I always tend to save them for something special.  Well... after two years of sitting on them I decided to USE them!  Also, I used a shimmer paper for the background that I've been saving as well.  Anxiety pains are happening.. what will I do now that I've taken a chunk out of each??!!

This was an easy card to make.  I brought out the Spellbinder ornaments dies and found that they cut through that thick paper with ease.  I found some CB edge folders that I haven't used so tried them on the ornaments.  The lighter ones show nicely but the larger one can be seen with that trusty old magnifying glass!  Pop dots in two thicknesses (sp?) lifted them up for more definition.  CAS cards shouldn't have too much on them but they looked so boring flat against the background.  Last was a jellyroll pen to draw in the ornament wires because my gold thread is MIA.

Thanks for looking and hope everyone has a wonderful work week!

Stampscapes - Raspberry Sunset

Good Evening Chickees!
I was wracking my brain trying to think of a card to submit to the Outlawz Color Challenge that also has a twist!  We had to use the colors shown below and also add plaid or houndstooth paper.  Yikes!  I had neither in colors that would coordinate with the challenge colors so made my own with a plaid stamp.
Things came together when I pulled out my Stampscape stamps!  The sunset is mainly Raspberry and the white is used to frame the scene.  The scene was stamped in black.  I also used some other colors to  bring it to life.

First off, I brayered the background starting with Pink Sherbet and then darkened everything with Raspberry and then Wild Plum.  The stamped images were then added using Memento Tuxedo Black.  This time around I didn't stamp a test scene on scrap paper first and you can tell.  The rocks at the bottom of the stamps don't line up as well as they should so it doesn't look as natural.  Oops... better luck next time!

To add some depth and hints of color I used a stylus.  First off I went  back to the Wild Plum and framed the edges of the brayered scene, blending in the darker edges. Memento Black was used along the outer edges to give the illusion of an evening scene.  I blended in some Lemonade to the lower edges of the sky along with parts of the water.  Frayed Burlap was used on the rocks and then topped off with Weathered Wood on the water.

Here's a close up view of the trees and sky showing where I put the white highlights!  It doesn't show tooooo well so grab your magnifying glass and do some squinting exercises!

Here's the recipe!
