Christmas Card For Mom!

The Wednesday's sketch of the week over at The Outlawz this week is:

This is my version of the sketch and now that I'm finished... I'm going to send it to mom!  Hope she likes it for real and not cuz I'm her daughter haha!

Everything is pretty straight forward about this card.  The pearls are on tape... I could never space them so evenly by myself!  The sentiment is from Flourishes!

Thanks for looking!

Flourishes - Masculine Card

Hey there Chickees!
Yep... I'm back for a wee bit.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks at work and at home.  Painting the exterior of the house is taking a little longer than usual.

I'll post more later... had a 6.8 earthquake north of us and aftershocks are supposed to happen.  We only felt a little bit here but must head home to check my puppies cuz they are probably scared..

Talk to you soon!!

Hugs,
Sheree

Back in business.  The earthquake wasn't that bad but I have a dog that sees ghosts and flies freak him out.  Max needed a big hug when I got home haha!

Back to the card I posted!  The image is from Flourishes - What a Catch! set.  I found this set two weeks ago and have been playing around with different colour combinations.  This one ... I like!

There's a fish hook tied to the sisal twine but it moved while I took the picture so the hook end is hard to see.  It's there though!!

The recipe is as follows:
Stamps - Flourishes, Studio G
Ink - Memento Black, Distress - Burlap
Paper - Staples, Recollections, Stampin' Up!
Ribbon - Looks like fishnet but is actually 2 1/2 inch woven that I stretched out of shape.  This one is dark green and gold woven in
Colouring - Copics
CuttleBug - Woodgrain folder
Embossing powder - Crafty Capers glittery copper
Spellbinders Diamond Dies
Pop dots

There you have it!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Sheree

Flourishes Mother's Day FLLCMay11

I know Mother's Day is overwith but... Flourishes is having a challenge and the winner receives all four sets of new release stamps!  I LOVE Flourishes stamps and would LOVE to add these kewl new sets to my collection!!
For this card I used a stamp from the Sweet Peas set.  This was coloured with Copics along with one other impression to be cut out adding dimension with pop dots.  The background is glossy paper smooshed in Ranger Alcohol Inks.  It's rather abstract but I think its a good contrast with the image.  Happy Mother's Day was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with Tinsel Red.
Here's a close up view...
The recipe for this card is as follows:
Stamps:      Flourishes Sweet Peas, Stampin' Up! Sentiment
Papers:      Glossy and White Stampin' Up!
Inks:          Versa Mark Yellow, Stampin' Up, Copics, Ranger Alcohol Inks in
                  Sunshine Yellow, Red Pepper, Cranberry
Stickles     Yellow, Diamond
Doily         Wilton - Michael's
Other         Recollections bling, Pop dots, Red Tinsel embossing powder
Thanks for looking.... Hope I win those four new sets!!  One is a fisherman's set and being that I have all boys who fish it would be the perfect aquisition!

I worked on this card earlier this past week but was changing this and that all the time until it was finished two evenings later.  The shop was so busy this week that I didn't have time to post a thing!  I was up early this morning with my pups so headed down to the old computer to upload and post while the rest of the world lay sleeping.
I've loved this stamp for a long time now and finally sat down with my Copics to colour it in and bring it to life.

Flourishes Mother's Day

Happy Wednesday All!
I must be on a sweetpea kick!!  Not only am I on my second post this week.. It's another Flourishes Sweet Pea card!  Hopefully this card will be fine to enter at
The Outlawz challenge blog!
The image was coloured with copics.  I will add the colour numbers later as I'm posting this at work and everything is at home.  The lavender background paper is from K&Company.  I stamped the green plaid myself and mounted it on cream paper from Michael's.  A Martha Stewart corner punch was used and it's from one of the punch around the page sets.  The cream paper was punched with a Fiskars punch.  I distressed the sentiment with Old Paper and the sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps.
After colouring the image I highlighted areas with Diamond Stickles.  I also coloured petals on a second stamped image and cut out pieces to prop up for a 3D effect.

Flourishes Wedding/Birthday/Girlie Card

Good Evening My Friends!
Sorry about not posting much this past week...errr..nothing!  I've been busy in the yard and with all the nice weather the shop has been busier than heck!  That's a good thing in general but not for blogging!
I've been playing with this Flourishes card for days now.  The stamping and colouring were the easy parts!  This is one of my favourites and made the mistake of picking papers after I coloured instead of before.  BIG lesson learned!
The image was coloured with the following Copics: YR00, RV21, R85, RV34, YG13, YG63, YG67 and C2.  I'm my own worst critic but really like how this turned out!  I coloured two images and then cut out pieces of one and layered them onto the original for a 3D effect with 1/16th thick pop dots.  Some of the dots had to be cut into tiny pieces in order to make them not show.
Background papers are from Bazzil (sp?), K & Company along with unknown.  The paper doilies were from my Candy that I won from
T-Bear's Touch blog owned by Trisha!  Did I ever get some beautiful items in that box!  I purchased a new Fiskar's punch at Wally World today and used it for my butterfly along with Glossy Accents and bling.  Two background papers were cut out with Spellbinders and the pink embossed with Swiss Dots.  The edges of the doilies and the patterned background paper were distressed with Old Paper.  I also added Diamond Stickles to the sunkissed areas of the Sweet Peas and Leaves.
The tough part with this card is trying to figure out how I can embellish some more with ribbon.  I've tried two different types of bows in two different types of ribbon and I'm stumped!  This past week I've been trying different papers, positions on the card along with others but this is as far as I've gotten.... yikes!  Any ideas??
Thanks for looking!  Hope you all have a wonderful work week!

Hugs,
Sheree

Romantic Valentine

Here's a Valentine I came up with a week ago. Due to dealing with year end at the shop it took me until now to upload it!
I started off with white card stock 4 X 6". The next layer is cut 1/8" smaller and is an embossed paper with small leaves and vines. The third layer is popped up. I started with plain white card stock and used my Scor Pal to emboss a frame and then within that frame, diagnal lines. The next layers are a smaller piece of white card stock embossed with Swiss Dots and my CuttleBug. The smaller piece is framed with the Scor Pal and stamped with the sentiment "Happiness held is the seed. Happiness shared is the flower" For the top layer I started with white card stock and used my Nestabilities for the oval frame. The Sweet Pea Stamp and sentiment are from Flourishes.
The Sweet Peas were coloured with Copic Markers and the tendrils accented with a Jelly Roll pen on the outer half of the tendril. Tim Holtz' Dimensional Enamel Accents which dry to a glossy white.
I purchased some shimmery 1" sheer ribbon for the first bow and then added a satin white bow on the top which I made using the Bow Easy. Hmmm.... I just looked at the picture and the satin bow must have come off on it's way to the photo studio in the dining room..... oops!!
The card doesn't look it's best in the photo. I thought I did a pretty good job at doing something a little fancier than normal.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking!!
