Outlaws Challenge - 03-05-2012

The Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz this week is the colour green.  I think the background papers are from Stampin' Up! but don't quote me on that one.  The flower is actually a Penny Black sticker!  My ribbon is a sheer sage colour and I bought that at WalMart a long time ago.

Have a wonderful weekend Chicks!

Prom Queen

Good Morning Chicks!

I've been playing around with flowers again and... the Cricut!  The Monday Challenge at The Outlawz.  Once again I'm in just under the wire!

The main image is actually a transparent sticker that I picked up at WalMart a while ago.  It was hanging on an end display and not actually in the scrapbooking aisle.

I mounted the sticker on some pastel mint green from Recollections.  This paper was also used in layers on the card as well as for greenery under the flowers and bow.  The cut background is done with the Cricut using the Story Book cartridge.  I'm really loving that cart and it's a must have!  The flower spray was done by memory using a Kitty Kraft tutorial.  Hers are waaaay better but I get A for effort!

The challenge was to use lace and pearls so I did just that.  The lace is actually a paper doily and the pearls are the flower centers and around the tag.  Here is a closeup!

The recipe is as follows:

Stamps - None - The sentiment was generated on the computer
Sticker - A Brides Wish from WalMart
Paper - Staples 110 lb. white and Recollections from the Easter pastel collection
Doily - Wilton
Punches - Martha Stewart and eksuccess??
Pop Dots
Diamond Stickles
Pearles - Dollar Store

Thanks for looking!

Trying Something Different!

Good Evening Chicks!

Well, the weekend is only hours from being over and the long work week begins. :o(  I tried making flowers like Kittie does here and then combine them into a spray here.  It's been a couple of weeks since I perused her outstanding step by step details so you will note that hers are waaaayyy better but, I did give a valiant effort!

This first card is one I did to enter a Penny Black challenge for colour.  The three colours I chose to use were white, cream and green.  The sentiment is one we all know but the stamp itself came from Penny Black.  The flowers and spray were done from memory and I added the pearls after to give it a little something extra because it looked kind of bland.  If I had Kittie's embossing folders I'd be on cloud nine!  They are gorgeous!

This second card looks sooo much better in real life!  I couldn't get the lighting in the dining room to work with me at all.  I started with a sticker from a set I bought at WalMart a while ago.  It is a clear, pearlescent (sp?) sticker that I mounted on white card stock and cut out, then popped it up.  The flowers and spray were done by memory again and I added a bit of Diamond Stickles to the tips of some petals.  Not sure if I like the ribbon along the bottom but it was part of the Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I just took a look at the sketch again and I should have a bow on the ribbon but it would have been too much with all the flowers I think.

So, there you have it!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and I will post something again very soon!

Outlawz Challenge Card

Happy Monday Morning!!
I had fun making this card that is for one of our employee's birthday this coming weekend.  The papers were from my stash and the gorgeous butterfly is a sticker that I picked up at WalMart the other day.  The stickers are from a series called Bride's Own and aren't hanging in the scrapbooking aisle.  I stumbled upon them by accident and went back for all they had once I played with them.
The sticker was transparent so I mounted the sticker on white paper and cut it out.  I then used pop dots under the wings to give it a 3d effect.
The papers are unknown from my stash!
Thanks for looking!
