Mother's Day - Hero Arts

Good Morning Chicks!

Just a quick post this morning.

I've seen a few challenges out there for either Mother's Day, Spring or Pastels.  This, is my entry for all of them!

The main image stamp is from Hero Arts #S5033 Silhouette.  I stamped it in Versa Color Old Rose and embossed it with Hero Arts clear embossing powder.  The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up! and it is embossed as well.

I can't remember where the paper is from... my stash!  I made the bow with ribbon from WalMart and the butterfly is from a sticker package called Bride's Own from WalMart as well.

Hope you all have a wonderful work week!

Hugs,
Sheree

Challenge Cards!

Good Afternoon Chicks!

This is a quick post.  We had a terrible wind storm with winds between 130 and 140 km/hr winds which blew everything apart up here.  Our power went out at home on Monday at 7:30 a.m. and have since found out that it could be off until Thursday 11 p.m. or later.  My teeth are starting to chatter!  It snowed twice today along with hail at one point.  You can see your breath inside the house!
We have power right now at the shop so am quickly posting two cards.  The lighting is horrible here so my card photos aren't that great.  They needed to be quickly posted because I'm going through Blogger withdrawl!!
Card Number 1 is for the Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge with a floral theme.

Here's a closer view of the embossing.  Too bad you can't buy that embossing powder anymore!!

Here's card number 2.  I originally made it for the sketch challenge at the Outlawz last Wednesday.  Due to power outages from our storm I couldn't get it posted so will add it to the bunch and find another challenge to enter it in to!

I don't have a recipe to type out right now because... we've been without power for three days now.  Once I can find things again, I will add the recipe to this post!

Hope everyone is well and happily stamping!

Hugs,
Sheree

I Love Paris....

Good Evening Everyone!

I put this together last night.  I came close to the idea that was in my head but need to tweek the design a bit more.  Instead of heart brads holding down the corners I would love to find something that would make kewl Victorian photo holders.  Something like that would tie in with the Eiffel Tower nicely especially if it had a wrought iron look without the wrought iron price!  If I find something to use along that line I will post it at a later date!

I started by stamping on a small piece of white cardstock.  It's hard to see in the photo but I used Antique Linen Distress to stamp a background behind the tower.  The leaves and flowers are coloured with distress inks and I went outside the lines with the sponging on purpose.  Next I used a light grey copic and gave PARIS a shadow which also made them stand out more.
The mesh background is from a roll that I bought at the dollar store before Christmas.  It unravels easily but that's alright for this one.  The gold tinsel that is woven into it slides out easily so may just pull it all out next time.  I was thinking that I may distress the weave before cutting it as well.
Lastly, I accented the flowers with pink Stickles.  It made them stand out a lot more!

The recipe is:
Stamps -  Stampendous CRP144 - I Love Paris
               Penny Black 1999L Letter Background
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Antique Linen, Shabby Shutters
Adirondack Dye Inks - Pink Sherbet
Versa Fine Black
Paper - Staples 110 lb. and unknown
Stickles
Brads
Ribbon - WalMart
Bow Easy

Have a wonderful work week!
Hugs,
Sheree

Just thought I'd share something wierd and funny with you as well.  I occasionally go into Stats to see where my viewers are coming from.  The largest source????  http://www.justforlaughsgags.tv/  I went to this link and found there's nothing there that I can see that would refer anyone to my blog.  Go figure!!

Flourishes Mother's Day FLLCMay11

I know Mother's Day is overwith but... Flourishes is having a challenge and the winner receives all four sets of new release stamps!  I LOVE Flourishes stamps and would LOVE to add these kewl new sets to my collection!!
For this card I used a stamp from the Sweet Peas set.  This was coloured with Copics along with one other impression to be cut out adding dimension with pop dots.  The background is glossy paper smooshed in Ranger Alcohol Inks.  It's rather abstract but I think its a good contrast with the image.  Happy Mother's Day was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with Tinsel Red.
Here's a close up view...
The recipe for this card is as follows:
Stamps:      Flourishes Sweet Peas, Stampin' Up! Sentiment
Papers:      Glossy and White Stampin' Up!
Inks:          Versa Mark Yellow, Stampin' Up, Copics, Ranger Alcohol Inks in
                  Sunshine Yellow, Red Pepper, Cranberry
Stickles     Yellow, Diamond
Doily         Wilton - Michael's
Other         Recollections bling, Pop dots, Red Tinsel embossing powder
Thanks for looking.... Hope I win those four new sets!!  One is a fisherman's set and being that I have all boys who fish it would be the perfect aquisition!

Sheree

Flourishes Mother's Day

Happy Wednesday All!
I must be on a sweetpea kick!!  Not only am I on my second post this week.. It's another Flourishes Sweet Pea card!  Hopefully this card will be fine to enter at
The Outlawz challenge blog!
The image was coloured with copics.  I will add the colour numbers later as I'm posting this at work and everything is at home.  The lavender background paper is from K&Company.  I stamped the green plaid myself and mounted it on cream paper from Michael's.  A Martha Stewart corner punch was used and it's from one of the punch around the page sets.  The cream paper was punched with a Fiskars punch.  I distressed the sentiment with Old Paper and the sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps.
After colouring the image I highlighted areas with Diamond Stickles.  I also coloured petals on a second stamped image and cut out pieces to prop up for a 3D effect.

Thanks for looking!

Early Mother's Day Card

Hi Everyone!

Well, I did finally make time to put together a card that's been bouncing around in my head for a few days now. It didn't turn out exactly as planned as I was hoping to make some paper roses.
The main stamp is Penny Black? I'm one of those newbies who was so excited about using a new stamp that I threw away the original packaging! Now, I'm living to regret it and when I do buy new cling stamps I keep them with the packaging or label them. The sentiment is from JustRite Stampers which I purchased from Crafty Capers  in Nanaimo. This set is sew kewl as it came with the stamping block, sentiments and also the Spellbinders to make assorted tags.
The papers were from Doodlebug Design Inc. (dots), Stampin' Up! (Plain) and Little Yellow Bicycle (Plaid). The plaid one was actually in the baby section!
I coloured the image with Copics and can't remember which colours I used because I kept playing around with different ones. Bling was added around the sentiment and the glittered leaves were cut out with the Cricut (StoryBook cartridge). Ribbon is from Michael's and I made the glue dots myself with the glue gun and tinted them with Ranger Alcohol Inks. I wish that the thread colour had stood out more on the stitching so if you can't tell... it's like a peacock blue that I had left over from some quilts I made.
Thanks for looking! Please don't hesitate to critique me... I'm learning!!
