A Little Bit Of Magic!

Good Morning Everyone!

The weather has turned into Winter here on the North Island.  Yesterday it wasn't raining cats and dogs.. It was raining pigs and elephants!  We had high winds that shut down the ferry at times and are like the ones that usually start up at the end of October, just before Halloween.  Getting out of bed and going to work has been a dreaded chore this week!

I came up with this card after seeing a challenge at The Outlawz for the Sunday CAS card.  Not too sure if this is CAS enough but it's worth a shot!

The butterfly and flowers are stickers that I picked up at Crafty Capers in Nanaimo two weeks ago.  The challenge was no stamps except for the sentiment!  Perfect!  I coloured the butterfly first only to realize I didn't have papers to coordinate so pulled out the Vellum and embossed with the CB.  The embossing turned out neat but didn't stand out so lightly applied Distress Inks to make it come to life.  The end result was exactly what I wanted!

Super easy card and although I'm not great at cards that aren't Stampscapes, I like this one.  Here is a close up view of the embossing and stickers...

Here's the recipe!

Stamps - Sentiment - Stampin' Up!
Inks - Distress Orange Marmalade and Distress Tumbled Glass
Papers - Staples 110 lb., Recollections for Vellum and Yellow
Ribbon - Unknown from my stash
Pop Dots

The Outlawz - Sunday CAS

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Sheree, this is really beautiful! I love the vellum paper. Actually, I think I might have some of the same stuff. The butterfly looks fantastic!

Hey, I picked up a bunch of stamps from Crafty Capers a week ago and I signed up for the Oct 15th Stampscapes class too. It would be great to see you there.

So beautiful! Even with just stickers you make a gorgeous card!! Let's hope the cold snap is just a fluke & not a sign of the winter to come!

Great card, even if it isn't stampscapes!
We've had hurricane force winds too, and there's no water to be seen!
