Craft A Scene - March - Moonlight

Good Morning Chicks!

My mojo is slowly coming back and I finally had the mindset to work on another Stampscapes scene for the Craft A Scene Blog Challenge for March which is moonlight.

This scene was very easy to accomplish.  I started with four Stampscape stamps (listed below) and then decided to do a monochromatic scene.  It turned out pretty kewl ... I think!  Also, I used a 5X7 size for the card.

To colour the scene I started with a Tim Holtz blending tool with the foam.  Using Memento London Fog I started colouring lightly from the edge moving inward.  It probably took abour five passes around the whole card to get the look I wanted.  Then, using Distress Ink called Black Soot I used the blending tool and once again worked the ink lightly from the outside edge inward until it was dark enough.

I decided that the scene needed a tiny bit of something to add interest so picked up my Colorbox Stylus that had Adirondack Lemonade on the foam pad and without reinking it I tapped a bit of colour into the moon.  Here is a closer look at the photo so you can see what I've done!

Once I mounted the scene it was easy to see that it would look great mounted black on white.  A little bit of scoring around the outside edge and it was done!  After I finished the card I was thinking that a funny sentiment for the inside, that would go with the outside would be... Congratulations on your children moving out!  haha!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Sheree

Stampscapes - Father's Day / Birthday

Hi Everyone!
My DH? is upstairs watching the Stanley Cup so I'm downstairs posting a card I put together last night.  I think this one turned out pretty neat even if it's rather mundane in that I am once again using my three favourite stamps (this month)!
I started off with white glossy cardstock and used the brayer with my Antique Linen Distress Ink pad.  Because some inks fade quickly I brayered over the paper many times with a vast amount of ink just to see what happens.  I was pleased to see that because I brayered so many layers.. the colour didn't fade much at all.  My expert photography skills don't show the colour off well but it looks good!
The next step was to place the stamps one by one.  Each one was stamped in Archival Jet Black and immediately embossed with ultra fine clear embossing powder.  Here is an angled view that shows off the embossing along with the Diamond Stickles I added for highlight!
Now that the photo is uploaded I see that the Stickles aren't showing up well at all!  I added it along the waterline of the rocks and into some of the reflections.
The next step was to chop everything up and glue it onto the black paper.  That was in turn mounted onto the kraft cardstock.  Now here's a wee, little secret!  The kraft cardstock was actually purchased at WalMart and I found it by accident while looking for office supplies.  The package contains 50 cards and 50 envelopes for just over $7.00!  Normally the ready made cards they carry are of a very lightweight cardstock... quite flimsy actually.  The kraft ones work great!
Here's the recipe!
Stamps:
Stampscapes -
023A    Duck Trio
267E     Pines and Rocks
046E     Lakeside Cove
Sentiment -
Innie & Outie by My Sentiments Exactly!
Paper -   WalMart, Recollections
Ink -  Archival Jet Black
Diamond Stickles
Ultra fine embossing powder
Brads
There you have it in a nutshell... Thanks for looking!

Stampscapes - Father's Day #1

It's Friday!!  WooHoo!!!!

I was working in Nanaimo yesterday so guess what I did??!!  Shhhh...I went to
Crafty Capers!  I grabbed the only farm stamp she had so look for that one in the future.  I also grabbed some more of the good glossy paper for working with my brayer.
The idea for this card popped into my head on the drive home.  I had picked up the sentiment stamp the other day and thought this layout would bring everything together!   Inside says  ...Happy Father's Day.  This time I used yellows and oranges but am also going to post some of the same done with other colours just to see how they turn out.

The recipe is as follows:

Stamps used:

Stampscapes -
023A     Duck Trio
267E     Pines & Rocks
046E     Lakeside Cove

My Sentiments Exactly
Hampton Art

Inks Used:
Adirondack Dye Ink Pads - Terra Cotta, Butterscotch, Caramel
Distress Inks - Spiced Marmalade
Memento - Cantalope
Ranger Archival - Jet Black

Stampscapes - Father's Day

I'm Back!!!!

Sorry about the delay in posting but, we finally have had a couple of days of sunshine!  I watched the blue sky all day at the shop and for once it hasn't rained from 3 p.m. on so I was able to get a bit of yard work done!  Now I'm getting yard work done and haven't had much time to hibernate in my favourite room!

This is a quickie card I threw together just to see how it would turn out.  I've had this paper on the brain for a while and did a small Stampscape just to see how it looked.  I found a small roll of twine in my stash and took a cue from Karen at Feline Creative.  (I'd love to create like her when I grow up!!)

Stamps:       Country Stream Small - Stampscapes; Sentiment - Stampin' Up!
Paper:          s.e.i.  Moonrise (moss) from Crafty Capers; Kraft and Black from
                   Recollections
Twine:         Can't remember (I'm actually too tired and lazy to run upstairs and look!)
Inks:            Adirondack Dye Ink pads:  Lemonade, Aqua, Pool, Meadow, Mocha
                   Distress Ink pads:  Frayed Burlap
Diamond Stickles. Pop dots

Anyway... just thought I'd post this to see what happens.  Thanks for looking!!

Hugs!
