Challenge Cards!

Good Afternoon Chicks!

This is a quick post.  We had a terrible wind storm with winds between 130 and 140 km/hr winds which blew everything apart up here.  Our power went out at home on Monday at 7:30 a.m. and have since found out that it could be off until Thursday 11 p.m. or later.  My teeth are starting to chatter!  It snowed twice today along with hail at one point.  You can see your breath inside the house!
We have power right now at the shop so am quickly posting two cards.  The lighting is horrible here so my card photos aren't that great.  They needed to be quickly posted because I'm going through Blogger withdrawl!!
Card Number 1 is for the Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge with a floral theme.

Here's a closer view of the embossing.  Too bad you can't buy that embossing powder anymore!!

Here's card number 2.  I originally made it for the sketch challenge at the Outlawz last Wednesday.  Due to power outages from our storm I couldn't get it posted so will add it to the bunch and find another challenge to enter it in to!

I don't have a recipe to type out right now because... we've been without power for three days now.  Once I can find things again, I will add the recipe to this post!

Hope everyone is well and happily stamping!

Hugs,
Sheree

Outlaws Challenge - 03-05-2012

The Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz this week is the colour green.  I think the background papers are from Stampin' Up! but don't quote me on that one.  The flower is actually a Penny Black sticker!  My ribbon is a sheer sage colour and I bought that at WalMart a long time ago.

Have a wonderful weekend Chicks!

Outlawz Color Challenge - 03/06/2012

Here is the inspiration photo and colors that are for this weeks color challenge at The Outlawz

Good Morning Chicks!

Another challenge over at the Outlawz!  I started this card last night with a brayer and Adirondack rainbow stamp pad.  I used the flower print stamp and memento ink to apply the image to the glossy paper.  I didn't like how it looked and for some reason I looked over at the box of embossing powders and grabbed the Stampendous Glitter Gold Transparent powder.  I thought it would stick only onto the stamped image as I had heat set the inks.  Well... the embossing powder stuck al over it!  There was no way I could even attempt to correct this with a small soft brish so used the heat gun to see what would happen.   It turned out really kewl!!  My photo doesn't show it well but I'm really happy with the end result.

After trying every color combination for background papers I finally chose the bright yellow and bright orange textured cardstock.  The ribbon is actually dyed seam binding.  I noticed that the challenge twist was to add a rosette.  My hands just weren't working right so tied a quick bow instead....ooops!

Here is a closer view that kind of shows you what happened!

When it came to stamping the sentiment I again brayered the glossy cardstock and stamped the image and embossed it the same as the main image.  Once again.. it looks wayyy better in real life!

The recipe is as follows:
Stamps:
Sentiment - Penny Black
Main image - Have to look when I get home
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
         Big N Juicy - Sunset
Embossing Powder - Stampendous
Ribbon - Fabricland
Papers - Unknown stash

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful week!

Outlawz CAS Challenge - 03-03-2012

Morning Chicks!

Just a quick post today.  This is my entry for the Outlawz CAS challenge this week.  It doesn't really qualify because after double checking... the two patterned papers required are to be layered.  I'm going to tweek this card or make a new one (only took 5 minutes) that will have the patterns layered instead.

I used a Fiskars punch for the butterflies and Liquid Pearls on their bodies.  The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and I found that in a bargain bin.

Here's another view...

Have a wonderful day!  The sun is shining... woo hoo!!

UPDATE!!
Here's two photos of the card that I redid. The challenge was to use two differnt prints and layer them.
Here is a close up view of the butterflies. My butterflies have four wings now haha!

Prom Queen

Good Morning Chicks!

I've been playing around with flowers again and... the Cricut!  The Monday Challenge at The Outlawz.  Once again I'm in just under the wire!

The main image is actually a transparent sticker that I picked up at WalMart a while ago.  It was hanging on an end display and not actually in the scrapbooking aisle.

I mounted the sticker on some pastel mint green from Recollections.  This paper was also used in layers on the card as well as for greenery under the flowers and bow.  The cut background is done with the Cricut using the Story Book cartridge.  I'm really loving that cart and it's a must have!  The flower spray was done by memory using a Kitty Kraft tutorial.  Hers are waaaay better but I get A for effort!

The challenge was to use lace and pearls so I did just that.  The lace is actually a paper doily and the pearls are the flower centers and around the tag.  Here is a closeup!

The recipe is as follows:

Stamps - None - The sentiment was generated on the computer
Sticker - A Brides Wish from WalMart
Paper - Staples 110 lb. white and Recollections from the Easter pastel collection
Doily - Wilton
Punches - Martha Stewart and eksuccess??
Pop Dots
Diamond Stickles
Pearles - Dollar Store

Thanks for looking!

Sheree
