Spam!

Good Morning Girlz!

I am apologizing in advance for having to go back to the original system for leaving comments.  For the next while there will be the verification letters to fill in.

For some reason, I am receiving hundreds of spam comments daily.  I get kind of bummed out at times but you have no idea how many people want to sell me Valium and diasepam and to top it all off they think I need Viagra to complete my transformation!

They just don't understand that if I take all that crap I won't have the energy left to play in my rubber room!

Anyway... Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh Valentine!

Good Evening Girlz!

I know.. We just entered into a new year and I am talking Valentines!  (Speaking of new year.. I just noticed my watermark still says 2012..oops!!)  The one I am posting tonight was fun to make.  If you want me to do a picture tutorial of the glossy parts just leave a comment below.  I have been playing around with distressing and this idea popped into my head so I headed off to the rubber room to  play with paper, ink and loads of embossing powder!!

I started by cutting out the hearts using my Cricut and the Sweetheart cartridge.  The main white hearts were set at 5 1/2 inches.  Two were cut using the main scallop shape and two using the shadow option.  I embossed one scallop with Swiss dots and left the other hearts plain.  Using tape, join one scallop to each of the shadow cut hearts.

The hearts were joined together by scoring the back hearts at approximately 1/2 inch.  Tape the back to the front and now start to decorate!

For the front I cut the  same heart using the shadow option at 3 1/2 inches.  I cant exactly remember if it was that or 3 3/4 inches.  Eeghad!

I distressed the larger coloured heart using Distress inks and embossing powder.  Before embossing I used the Hero Arts music backgrund stamp and Walnut Stain ink for fun.

The heart lock is also from the Sweetheart cartridge.  I cut that at 2 1/2 inches and distressed the red heart layer and embossed the heck out of it as well.  It is hard to show how dimensional everything looks in photos so trust me when I say everything really does look better in real life!!

I punched two holes to feed the black ribbon through.  The skeleton key on the inside was cut from a Tim Holtz die and distressed to look like wrought iron.

The sentiment inside was done on the computer and cut out.

There you have it!

Hereès the recipe...

Stamps - Hero Arts music background
Inks - Distress Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Festive Brrries
Ranger clear embossing powder
Cricut - Sweethearts
Cuttlebug
Ribbon - Unknown from stash

Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage To End The Year

Evening Girlz!!

Here is my try at something vintage this week.  It is okay, but not great...definitely a learning curve!

The image is a crop from a free vintage photo on the net.  I used Distress Vintage Photo on it along with my fave ink.. Distress Wild Honey.  Once I distressed the photo I ran a Versamark pad over it and then dumped on the clear embossing powder to shine it up!

The tag itself was done by using Vintage Photo Distress ink randomly over the tag.  I then added Distress Wild Honey and once that was done I crumpled the tag up in my hand,   then spread it back out on my play surface.  Then, I inked up the applicator with Distress Gathered Twigs.  I find that this ink is on the blacker end of the brown spectrum and almost gives a burnt look to the edges.  This ink was also added to the wrinkles on the tag to deepen the colour.

The lace on the the tag came looking vintage enough so I only put Distress Vintage Photo on the edges of the ribbon.

I stamped the new Hero Arts background stamp called Tiny Ink Spots in VersaMark and then Copper Tinsel embossing powder.  It looks really neat in real life but the colours in the photograph just arent the right shades.  They should be a bit more on the warm yellow side.

The recipe is...

Dylusions stamps by Ranger - Sentiment
Hero Arts 2013 - Background Tiny Ink Spots
Inks - VersaMark, Versa-Fine
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs
Ranger Clear Embossing Powder
Ribbon - Unknown
Flowers - Unknown

There you go!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful New Year!!

Stampscapes Gift Tag

Hi Girlz!

I needed some pretty tags to go with the large Christmas arrangements I made up.  Yes I will post a pic of them in the near future.

I used one stamp... Stampscapes Pine.   The pine was stamped with VersaMark and then I used Ranger, Super Fine Detail embossing powder.  Once the embossing was done I added the moon.  The tag on the left had a small post it circle added right after embossing.  The tag on the right added after I put a very light spritz of ??? Memories gold.  Sorry.. Am having a moment!!

To finish these off I then added more gold spray.  They look so much prettier IRL.  Too bad you cant see the shimmer!

Lastly I framed the trees with a high gloss gold paper and that was then popped up onto a double layer of white cardstock with the top piece embossed.

The snowflake was from a package of 20 from the Seasonal section in WalMart.

Ta daa!!  Super easy to make a lot.  I must try doing it in different colours!

Have a wonderful Christmas!!
